A Wild Card Future for Oil Marketers

Tom Kloza
Global Head of Energy Analysis
Oil Price Information Service (OPIS)

The dynamic for global and North American fuel markets has changed, and could be altered dramatically by a new administration that wants "more rigs, and fewer regs."  Veteran oil analyst Tom Kloza will detail why some records may again be broken for U.S. crude production, but he'll illustrate why gasoline and diesel prices may pursue an entirely different path, with particularly extreme results in the nation's midsection. As an advisor to the Fuels' Institute, Kloza will also take a look at what's in store for fuel demand in the next four years, and why octane wars might be in the American future.

Tom has covered downstream oil markets for over 40 years, and was among the founders of OPIS. A magna cum laude graduate of St. Francis University, Tom has a degree in English and has analyzed crude oil, refined products, and gas liquids for parts of four decades. He has also written commentary for Marketwatch and is a regular guest commentator for Bloomberg Financial Markets and NPR Marketplace.

He provides unbiased and expert commentary for print and electronic media during times of oil volatility, and is often in more newspapers than the weekly Crossword or Jumble. He serves on the Board of Advisors for the Fuel Institute as well as the Board of Advisors for Turner Mason. Tom is a frequent guest lecturer on fuel price economics at a number of colleges and universities as well as for key petroleum associations. He has also appeared live on camera in energy forums for CNBC, FoxBusiness, Nightline, the CBS Morning Show, and Good Morning America.
